Ryann {Downingtown Newborn Photographer}

I met this beautiful little lady Ryann when she was just 10 days old. She has two adorable big brothers, Dylan and Chase, both full of energy and equally handsome.

Ryann was wide awake for a majority of the session, but perfectly content. It can be a challenge to get good newborn shots while they are awake. They tend to not have control of their eyes, often going cross eyed :) Not with Ryann! As you’ll see, we were able to get some great shots of her awake, and she has the most gorgeous blue eyes. Check out the full head of hair, too!

Patience is by far the most important thing when photographing newborns, and all the time spent rocking, shushing, and feeding paid off when she finally fell asleep and we were able to get some of those super cute sleepy baby poses!

I had a wonderful morning spent with the Cicero family. They made me feel right at home the second I walked in, even offering me lunch! Thank you, Liz and Tommy, for being so gracious, and allowing me to spend the morning with you!

Noah

I’m sure many of you recognize this beautiful family from their session with me back in November, and I’m sure all of you remember Noah, the little guy with the gorgeous eyes and killer wardrobe.

I was privileged enough to spend the morning of Noah’s actual 2nd birthday with him, his mom Shireen, and his dad Juby at an arboretum. As usual, Noah was in a fantastic mood. I sometimes wonder if he is EVER in a bad mood. Either way, his happiness is absolutely contagious, and he is kind beyond words…even at such a young age. If you were to spend 5 minutes with his parents you’d see exactly where he gets it from. They are by far some of the sweetest clients I’ve ever worked with.

We were some of the only people at the arboretum that day which gave us a ton of options for photos! Since I’ve worked with Noah and his family before, and we keep in close contact, I was really looking forward to this session. Plus, I would get to see my little Noah! We walked around, got some great shots, and chatted for a while. Shireen brought along a cake so we could attempt a cake smash at the end of the session, and as you will see in the pictures Noah was nothing but manners, and had no part of smashing anything. He sat quietly and ate the cookies off of the cake.

Shireen and Juby are expecting their second baby in August. I am thrilled that I am able to watch such a wonderful family grow, and be such a big part of documenting it. Keep an eye out for their maternity session within the next couple months, and a newborn session in August!!

Thank you, Shireen and Juby, for being so easy to work with, and being such supportive clients and friends!

For those of you who ask

Joe & Kate

I met with Joe and Kate in April to discuss their June 2012 wedding. Although their big day is still a while out, I enjoyed talking with them about their plans so far, and getting to know a little about them. I always encourage my couples to chose a wedding photographer (whether it’s me or not) not only for their work, but also based on how comfortable they are with them. Comfort and trust go a long way when photographing clients.

They chose to schedule an engagement session with me shortly after first meeting to give us all an opportunity to work with one another. Joe and Kate we incredibly laid back when it came to getting their pictures taken, and were up for any suggestions I had on locations/poses/etc. I was relieved that the weather was cooperative since I’ve had to reschedule several sessions recently due to rain. It was such a relaxed shoot and I really enjoyed my time with the two of them.

Asher & Benjamin

Rebecca and I first began chatting about a session for her boys back when they were only a few months old, and I was really excited when we were able to finally set a date for their one year portraits! Since sessions with toddlers can be unpredictable with just one child, I decided to bring along an assistant (my 8 year old son) to help wrangle up the boys if need be, and get their attention during group shots. Poor kid wound up playing his Nintendo DS a majority of the time because Asher and Benjamin were pretty cooperative. Better safe than sorry, right? :)

Benjamin was the calm, happy one, and Asher was the free spirit who just wanted to wander. Everyone always says that twins have their own language, and seriously…they do. The boys were on the bench at one point giggling away with each other, and I had NO clue why. It was so cute to watch though!

Enjoy some previews of these adorable little guys!

She said yes!

I was so excited when Eric contacted me over a month ago about photographing his proposal to his girlfriend, Meredith. I think every girl would love to have such an important moment captured. Challenge in all of it was the fact that I had to be hidden, and was unable to use any flash, strobe, or professional lighting during the actual proposal. Eric and I met at the restaurant where he planned to propose (and they had had their first date) to scope out the lighting, and see if using no flash was even a possibility. Although the room was dark, we lucked out and were able to make it work.

I might have been as nervous as Eric when the big day arrived, but a good nervous. I had not even met Meredith yet, but was SO excited for her, and couldn’t wait to see her reaction. She was COMPLETELY surprised!! Eric had told her to meet him at a political happy hour at the restaurant, so she was clueless. Everything was absolutely perfect. To top it all off, both of their families were downstairs and were sent up after she said yes. I took everything I had not to put down my camera and jump into the celebration and tears.

The celebration continued downstairs with drinks and appetizers. I stuck around for some group shots, and am glad I did. Their families were so very sweet, and you can tell they have nothing but love for Eric and Meredith.

Congratulations to the both of you! I am thrilled to have been a part of such an important night.
